Bruce Poehlman has been involved with engineering and surveying in the St. Louis and surrounding areas since 1974.  He has had the opportunity to work for some well known and respected firms with experience in all phases of design and management.

 

In 1986, Bruce started his own company and his partner, Tom Prost, joined the firm in 1993.

 

His responsibilities include overseeing the day to day operation of the firm and all civil engineering and land surveying projects.  His expertise is in civil engineering and his responsibilities include preparation of proposals, preliminary studies, sketch plans, cost estimates, development plans and civil engineering construction documents.  His years of experience have enabled him to build an outstanding reputation with his clients, as well as with local, county and state regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

Tom Prost has over 25 years experience in civil engineering and is the Registered Professional Engineer in Charge for Poehlman and Prost, Inc.  His expertise is in design of residential, commercial, industrial and institutional developments.  His responsibilities include the preparation of specifications, cost estimates, development plans and civil engineering construction documents.

 

Tom joined and became partner of the firm in 1993.  Prior to joining the firm, Tom was responsible for the supervision of the civil engineering staff of a well-respected St. Louis engineering firm.  He was also a project engineer for a St. Louis firm whose client list included several municipalities in Missouri and Illinois who were upgrading their wastewater treatment plants in the late 1970's to comply with new environmental regulations.

Qualifications

Christopher Laneman has over 20 years experience in land surveying and is the Professional Land Surveyor in Charge for Poehlman & Prost, Inc.  His responsibilities include overseeing the day to day operation of the land surveying department and management of all surveying projects.  He is experienced in analyzing boundary control and celestial observations.

 

Prior to joining the firm, Chris was field coordinator of surveying on several federal re-development project for the City of St. Louis and H.U.D.  His responsibilities have included the preparation and review of boundary and topographic surveys, land descriptions and all types of recordable plats.  Chris was also responsible for the management and coordination of the entire surveying department of a large St. Louis based surveying and engineering firm.

Qualifications

April Giesmann has 12 years experience in civil engineering, design and planning.  She has extensive experience working with municipalities, departments of transportation and other government agencies.  She is competent in hydrologic modeling, flood plain studies and detention facilities.

 

Her current duties include the design of storm sewers, detention facilities, sanitary sewers, parking lots, roadways, playfields and site layout for educational and religious facilities, commercial projects, residential properties (individual lots and subdivisions) and recreational facilities.

Qualifications

Stephen Jantosik has over 20 years experience in Land Surveying and Civil Engineering.  He is proficient in analyzing and research for boundary control, celestial observations, post processing GPS data, and determining state plane coordinates.

 

Prior to joining the firm, Stephen was the CAD manager at a growing St. Louis based surveying and civil engineering firm.  He was instrumental in the incorporation and application of all CAD operations, as well as implementing electronic data collection for survey crews.

 

His current duties include assistant management of our land surveying department and preparation of boundary and topographic surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, subdivision plats construction calculations, field layout and land descriptions.  He also confers with clients on project proposals and site design, as well with various city, county and utility officials.

 

Stephan has also worked on staff at St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley as a lab instructor for the Plane and Route Surveying Courses.

 

 

Chester J. Hill IV, Project Manager

Qualifications

Chester Hill has been in the design business for 3 years.  Through a state funded university program, Chester developed engineering documents through data analysis and design. Provided with the data collected by Poehlman & Prost, Inc. professional survey teams, Chester is able to manipulate control system data for development of full engineering documents in compliance with local municipalities, state and federal government agencies.

 

In addition, Chester is the on-site Networking and Information Technologist.  Some responsibilities include updating all company computer hard and software, instrument communications (both survey and office),  and network administration.  In addition, he provides maintenance for the company website and e-mail servers.
